The Jean Shop Mick Indigo Raw Jeans are constructed from 100% cotton selvedge raw denim. It has a straight leg with slight taper from the knee down.
Raw denim also known as dry denim, is a fabric that is kept as is after it comes off of the loom. It is denim that is not washed or processed in any way after it is manufactured. Raw denim starts off feeling really stiff and uncomfortable, but because the jeans break in over time they take on the wear of the owner and over time begin to fit like a glove. In jeans made from raw denim, fading is affected by the body of the person who wears them and by the activities of their daily life.
Selvedge denim refers to a unique type of fabric that is made using one continuous cross-yarn that is passed back and forth thru vertical warp beams while woven on the loom. The result is a fabric that comes off of the loom with a woven edge that will not fray, ravel or curl. The selvedge edge is exposed on the out-seam of both legs as well as the interior fly piece and inside the coin pocket.
