In 1973, Bill St. John, the idiosyncratic pro at the Field Club in Greenwich, CT, created a tennis apparel company as irreverent as his idols.

Combining classic prep style with performance fabrics, Bill, a former All-American squash player at Cornell, joined with a couple friends, drove from club to club selling shirts and shorts from his station wagon. Boast became a brand that was not only found on the country’s most popular tennis courts, tennis pros, and ivy league players, but one that is keeping those connected to a time of individuality, rebellion, and great tennis.

Boast was founded in an era when rebels dominated tennis and it has been proudly worn on the tennis courts of America since the 1970’s.
